Far Away: Corporate Espionage Status Checkin

Many have asked, so here’s a quick check-in of where we are in the production and manufacturing of Far Away: Corporate Espionage.

  • Game: We approved the proof back in November. The factory is working on the game. They anticipate being done in January.

  • Shipping: Once the game is finished, we’ll have everything freight shipped to Seattle and distributed by InDiPro.

  • Miniatures: In production. We sent the art files to Lethal Shadows back in October. The finished minis are expected to be complete in the next six weeks. They’re a Washington-based company, so shipping should be a minimal effort.

  • Sticker Sheets: Finished and ready to bundle for backers getting swag.

  • Postcards: Finished and ready to bundle for backers getting swag.

  • Posters: Finished and ready to bundle for backers getting swag.

  • Pins: Production is complete. They’re currently being shipped to Seattle.

Essen and the Future

CPG is in Essen for Essen Spiel. It’s our first trip to this nerd mecca, so we have no real idea what to expect. We’ve been warned about the intensity and speed of the convention; we’ll do our best to keep up with everyone and showcase the new features in Far Away: Corporate Espionage. What Could Go Wrong?

Over the last couple of months, we stepped back from the edge of manufacturing to apply some TLC to Far Away: Corporation Espionage. The main reason was to wait for some relief from the tariff chaos. But the lure of “more time” is undeniable. Every playtest turns up new issues, since the nature of the exercise invites feedback. Amateur game designers often preach that there is no such thing as too much testing, but you can easily fail into a trap of never publishing in the name of quality. It’s a trap that punishes our backers.
