Mordgeist is a semi-cooperative board game centering on a team of paranormal investigators for some terrible TV show. The crew finds themselves confronted by an actual supernatural presence and one of them gets possessed. The rest must survive the spirit’s evil machinations while trying to liberate their friend. Of course, they have no idea who is really possessed. They may save the whole group or damn innocent souls to an eternity of suffering.
Far Away Design Ideas
Far Away is a two-player, cooperative game about exploring an alien planet. You and your partner must overcome starvation, a dangerous ecosystem, and the crushing loneliness that comes with being the only two people for lightyears. Far Away is likely to be Cherry Picked’s fourth title and is going through the playtest/design iterations now. We want to start sharing our new idea with everyone.
Improv for Role Players Workshop
We had the wonderful opportunity to host an instructional improv workshop at this year’s Big Bad Con. It was a pleasing experience to go full-circle after spending time with Conspire, a game heavily-based on improv comedy philosophy. The group was invested in the class and laughed a ton. They also validated some assumptions I had about teaching such a class to a group of experienced role-players. I want to break down the workshop and highlight skillsets gamers could use to take their experience to the next level.
